So You Want to Become a Cam-Girl, Huh?

First thing first, don't let all the banner ads fool you and make you think that this is an easy job. It isn't. If you currently have a job, keep at it until you have a clientele.

To start your CamGirl Career, you will want to work on a 'big box site'. In other words, Chaturbate or MyFreeCams. You will want to work diligently and constantly on building your following.

Requirements for becoming a CamGirl:

• Computer
• Webcam (HD preferably)
• Light Kit (you can buy this off of amazon for less than $200)
• If you have other items such as: lingerie, dildos or other sex toys use those to spice up your show even more!

If you don't have a HD webcam, or a light kit you should be able to purchase these items within your first month. The key to making money on these kinds of websites is getting tons of viewers in your Chat Room, so that you get a higher ranking on your websites home page or featured page. Which, in turn will more often than not, get you noticed by the tippers & spenders more so.

Things to keep in mind would be:

• Log in daily! Do whatever kind of show you are comfortable with it doesn't always have to be sexual - you could simply talk to the guys about a book you recently read, or a movie you recently watched, maybe some anime or a video game might be a good topic. Or you could do a cum show with toys for a particular goal.
• Always set a room topic.
• Smile, Giggle, Flirt! They want to see your personality.
• Please, don't type - no one wants a robot *use your mic* if you want to wait till your second week and your more comfortable then do so. However, if your using your mic and talking to the guys then your more likely to: 1) get more viewers 2) more viewers will stay in your room for a longer period of time. *This is due to the interaction that they get with the models. The guys come for the sex - but stay for YOU, or another model that they get a different kind of personal interaction with. You want to sell the whole service!
• DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING AWAY FOR FREE!!! This industry is already bad enough with the plenty of girl that show their tits / ass / & or pussy for $0.50 - $1.00! You are worth so much more than that! If a guy says show me you tits / ass / etc. 1st, tell him no! He has to pay first! These guys are normally time-wasters and won't take you private. They will normally leave your room after you give them what they want, or if you tell him no & that he has to pay he will leave if he is broke or a time-waster. Some of the guys will covert to paying customer or even regular paying customers; however, most will linger in your room, you shouldn't unnecessarily block/kick people out of your chat room. Some of them will stick around for a few days silently until they have the money and then take you for a long private, sometimes, they will just silently sit back and watch, neither of these are bad options. If he keeps haggling you, then silence him, if he comes back again and does it again, make use of that ban button.
• When first starting out if your site features new girls, and most of them do, you will want to make use of that - some places it is 3 days, others it can be up to 7 days. You will want to check with the website!! Log on as much as possible - if your on Chaturbate then people can follow you: during this time set your chat topic to something like *Apps-tip goal: goal 1000 tokens - I'm new! ANY Flash for Follows! When I reach 1000 followers I will do a LIVE CUM SHOW! ***YES, that negates the 'don't give anything away for free' statement I made earlier, but you WILL need the followers, and on Chaturbate, how many people are in your room is what will matter when it comes to your placement on the website. If your new tag only last for seven days then you will only want to do this for seven days or however long that "new tag" is open. Once, it is over - put on your profile bio that you will still do the cum show at 1000 followers as a 'thank you'. It makes them feel special and they will want and continue to come back, especially for that show! ;-) If you properly promote the show, then 3/4 of your followers should be able to show up for the show, which in turn makes more viewers on the website notice you! Which is always a good thing. Have a goal running for the "next show' when doing this "thank-you show' Include a token goal amount & description. If you make about 3/4 of your goal, go ahead and start the show!
• Another thing I have recently learned while I've started to help a few other models start their career in this industry. One, you can't make a Twitter, and expect it to receive 1000 followers in the first week. It's not that you aren't sexy, it's that you are new and you have to actively work hard at promoting yourself. 1000 followers your first isn't impossible, but it is very unrealistic. Try to maybe say: "If I reach 200 new followers this week I will post 3 #SundayBumDay pics of my ass or 3 pics of my tits or pussy!" This is much more realistic and you won't set yourself up for disappointment. Also, the extra pics is a great incentive for more horny followers.
